Welcome to the MirrieDancers web site. MirrieDancers is a cross-generational project that has fused traditional crafts with new technologies. It is an innovative and inspiring project, conceived by artists Nayan Kulkarni and Roxane Permar and commissioned by Shetland Arts in 2008.
Through this project local residents helped create light based art works for their locality during the winter 2009-10 and for a set of permanent installations at Mareel, Shetland's new music, cinema and education venue. Shetland Lace knitters worked with the artists to create unique light works for Mareel. On 17 November 2012 we celebrate the official launch of the permanent installations at Mareel.
